2020 Covid Response Grants - Chicago

Grantee Organizations: Emerald South Economic Development Collaborative; Foundation for Homan Square; Garfield Park Community Council; Logan Square Neighborhood Association; Latinos Progresando

Elevated Chicago is a multi-sector collaborative that unlocks the potential of transit-oriented development to connect people and create equitable centers for climate resilience, health, and culture, and one of the six Strong, Prosperous and Resilient Communities Challenge (SPARCC) sites, a national multi-funder initiative working to reduce racial disparities, build a culture of health, and prepare for a changing climate. Elevated Chicago is made up of five community tables: Emerald South Economic Development Collaborative, Foundation for Homan Square, Garfield Park Community Council, Logan Square Neighborhood Association, and Latinos Progresando.

With support from Convergence Partnership, Elevated Chicago is leveraging a matching grant from SPARCC to fund these five community tables to work towards an equitable recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. Efforts include strengthening community engagement and coalition building around various community development projects and advancing local economic development with a focus on Black and Brown ownership.
