We are living in a time marked by deep challenges and extraordinary potential. Daily, waves of crises crash against our communities. But in those moments, there’s something remarkable that emerges: the people. The leaders on the frontlines, holding their corners, building systems of care and justice, and showing us all what collective care and leadership truly look like.
Everyday people are the heartbeat of social movements. Their work is focused, yet ripples powerfully, reshaping what is possible for all of us. They are local leaders creating connection, healing divides, and answering the call to care for their communities. They are not waiting for permission to act. They are building the just and inclusive future we all deserve, one solution, one relationship, one community at a time.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce the new season of our podcast, where we lift up the voices of those building the shared future of radical care in their communities. From battling climate injustice on the Louisiana bayou to amplifying community stories in Kansas City, these episodes highlight what it means to care for one another and build systems that serve the people.
This is not just inspiration. These are illustrations of what’s possible. As you listen, we hope they remind you that, even in the face of systemic inequities, you are not alone in this fight. Across the country, people are showing up for each other, building the world we dream of by taking care of what, and who, matters most.
And to those of us in philanthropy, we pose this question, what are we doing? How are we stepping up?? Community leaders hold the solutions grounded in their lived experiences and wisdom—we must not lose the path we walked in 2020, where loudly so many committed to resource and strengthen these efforts.
And, to go further, and show up not individually, but collectively. As we support communities to come together and wield collective power, I hope that we, too, will decide to put ego, fear and tradition aside – and walk in lock step together to face new fights and make new advances together. Together, philanthropy has the power to act boldly, take risks, and work in service of the movements that will define our future.
Listen to the podcast now and explore how these leaders are reimagining care, resilience, and justice. Because while we continue to fight for a better world, we must also build it.
Radical connection. Collective care. A shared future. It’s happening now. Will we hold our corners and be a part of these solutions?
